Festival of Lights

The Festival of Lights is the annual kickoff to the holiday season in the Drumheller valley

UPDATE: After careful consideration, the difficult decision has been made to cancel the Festival of Lights event that was scheduled for Saturday, November 21st.

While all of the event activities were planned carefully and met all of the Alberta Health Services guidelines and new COVID-19 regulations, the committee had received concerns from a number of citizens about the event taking place with increasing COVID-19 cases in the community. The committee echoed these concerns and ultimately felt that it is best not to hold the event during the two-week period of additional COVID-19 restrictions put in place on November 13, 2020, to help flatten the curve.

The annual Festival of Lights is a very  popular event looked forward to by many, and the committee is exploring options for re-scheduling the activities for another date in the future.

The Tree Trimming event planned for Friday November 20, 2020 will proceed with those families/cohort groups that have registered as this is a much smaller event. We also encourage everyone to enjoy the beautiful décor downtown and to check out our local stores for your festive shopping.

We appreciate the support from all of the volunteers, businesses, vendors, local and provincial government.

Thank you for understanding,

Festival of Lights Planning Committee
